TOWER PARKING SYSTEM

Our TP parking system was designed to provide a large number of parking spaces on a small footprint. As the name says, this is a tower-like structure with a height of up to 50 m. It has a modular design, permitting above-ground, underground or mixed construction. Above ground, cars are parked on a self-supporting steel structure; below ground, they are parked inside a concrete structure.

The lift moves over the whole height of this fully automated system. To its left and right, up to two vehicles can be parked behind one another, and as many as five vehicles can be placed side by side. In the vertical direction, the number of levels depends on the vehicle heights and local height restrictions.

A shuttle, riding on the lift along the full length of cars arranged side by side, conveys the vehicle pallets to the shelf. With this system, and thanks to short travel distances, there is less need for longitudinal travel of the storage and retrieval unit. This means the parking system operates very quickly. A network of sensors prevents any contact between vehicle bodies and the walls of the structure. Cars have maximum protection.

Here too, users hand over their cars in a transfer room, where they are picked up by the storage and retrieval unit. An intelligent control system distinguishes between long-term and short-term parking and sorts the vehicles accordingly. At peak times the control software can fetch vehicles in advance to shorten the waiting times.

The TP parking system also permits integration of a turntable in the transfer room or next to the storage and retrieval unit. Users can then both enter and leave facing in the driving direction. Manoeuvring is unnecessary and accidents are prevented. In addition, the turntable allows for different options in the entry area. Planners and architects thus have more latitude.

The system can be increased in speed to handle high-volume traffic. For greater throughput at these times, several transfer rooms are recommended. That allows more than one handover and retrieval operation to take place at once.

 

Due to its modular design, the parking system auto- TP can be adapted to many requirements up to a height of 50 m. Transfer rooms can be located on every parking level and by using a lateral car lift they also can be located above the parking system.

The rack structure can be built above ground, underground or in a mixed solution. The parking places can be located in a free standing rack structure (above ground) as well as in concrete building (underground). To increase throughput capacity, multiple transfer rooms may be used.
